Ndangiza urges women on family planning

RUSIZI — The Executive Secretary of National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC) Fatuma Ndangiza has encouraged women promote family planning in their home areas.

She was speaking during the closure of a four-day workshop that took place at Mururu Teachers’ training college in Mururu sector, Rusizi district on Monday, December 24.

The workshop brought together 260 women from the five districts of the Western Province.

 "I emphasize you as concerned ladies to go for family planning methods and to also encourage your fellow women to do the same countrywide in order to have children that they can look after in all aspects of life in the future” Ndangiza urged.

She also called upon participants to fight against domestic violence mainly done to women and children especially girls and to fight against injustice and corruption crimes in the region.

Participants were also asked to promote gender balance, peace, unity and reconciliation among Rwandans.

The workshop was organized by the National Women’s Council (NWC) in collaboration with the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC) and was attended by among others all the District vice Mayors in charge of social affairs of western province.
