KIGALI - THE Chairman of the National Electoral Commission, Prof. Chrysologue Karangwa has said that all presidential candidates will have equal rights to campaign anywhere in the country.

He made the remarks yesterday at Never Again Rwanda offices at Kimihurura during a youth discussion forum, Focus-Pressure-Action Program.

"All presidential candidates have equal rights to use the public media like holding talk shows on radio or television during campaigns,” Karangwa explained.

He was reacting to a question raised by a participant that in campaigns, some political parties are not granted a chance to air or advertise their opinions in various media channels.

He also sensitized youth to play a key role in the forthcoming presidential elections slated for August this year.

The seemingly exciting discussions left the youth who had turned up for the lecture satisfied with NEC’s preparations for the polls.

"I was impressed by the openness Prof. Karangwa showed while responding to several issues raised by my colleagues,” said Rehema Uwamahoro, a student of Umutara Polytechnic.
