Female clubs have been given January 15 as the deadline for handing in their club statutes which will give Ferwafa complete legal status.

According to an earlier meeting with club presidents and coaches at the headquarters of the national football governing body, Ferwafa Vice president, Vedeste Kairanga, set the January deadline so that all teams would be legal next year to compete.

Legal female teams will compete in the National team selection tournament scheduled for January and will also participate in the national championship which starts in February.   

"We want clubs to present their legal statutes and their leadership committees so that they are full legal members and can therefore attend the General Assembly,” said Kairanga.

Football changes every day and we intend to hold continuous training workshops this year in a bid to develop coaches and other club individuals.

All the registered 11 female clubs have been operating illegally and were all required to seek legality in a general meeting which convened all federations and the ministry of youth, sports and culture (Mijespoc) at Amahoro mid this year.

Ferwafa agreed to provide basic equipments for clubs to boost football among female clubs. Clubs were, however, urged to stop organizing competitions without Ferwafa’s consent.
