APR football club have formed a sister club ahead of next year’s national women championship.

According to the club coach, Ramadhani Cyiza, the club has attracted players that have been featuring in the league. These players have come in from clubs like Musanze, Kayonza and Inyemera among others.

"The team has not yet started training but will start any time soon as we prepare for next year’s national championship,” said Cyiza.

He also disclosed that the team has already finalized its legal process and that the statutes are notified.

APR has lined up for the fourth edition of the national women championship that kicks off in February.

Cyiza also says that local soccer fans have started tipping the club to dominate local women football as their male counterparts have successfully done in recent years.

However, some clubs have accused APR of recruiting their players without their consent.
"APR should be careful on transfers of players because complaints might arise if the proper channel is not followed,” said Musanze Fc coach, Haruna Karangwa.

According to Karangwa, the current transfer law dictates that players are only free to join another club after a two-year duration in that club or after a deal has been reached between the two clubs.

He also pointed out that those players who are still contracted to their club can only move after successful negotiations between the two club presidents.

Meanwhile, the local soccer governing body, Ferwafa has said that eight clubs have so far confirmed to participate in next year’s championship.

It is said that four clubs pulled out of this year’s championship citing financial incapability.

Ferwafa has also pledged to cater for the clubs’ transport and refreshment expenses during the championship.
