Semi-final

F. Rogoi beat G. Kibet 6-4 6-2

JEAN Claude Gasigwa suffered a disappointing straight sets defeat yesterday to bow out of the Kenyan leg of the ITF East Africa Money Circuit.

Up against Uganda’s tennis ace Duncan Mugabe, who is ranked 700 in the world, Gasigwa, who had dismissed Dennis Ochieng 6-3 3-6 6-3 in the last eight, failed to exert his experience as he went down 2-6 1-6 at Mombassa Sports Club.

It was the third time the pair had met this year after the Uganda and Kenya Opens where Mugabe dominated proceedings.

Mugabe will now play Francis Rogoi in the final. The Kenyan cruised to the final after a 6-4 6-2 victory over fellow countryman Gilbert Kibet.

The eventual winner will pocket Rwf460, 000.
