JEAN Bosco Bakunzi, a Rwandan contemporary artist, will launch ‘Uburanga’ his Arts studio today, at Rugando Street in Kimihurura.
The 24-year-old painter said ‘Uburanga’ translated to mean (Beauty) is a one-stop place that displays a variety of art collections of both local and international artists.
"Rwanda is a beautiful country, with beautiful people who have a beautiful culture and a beautiful future as well,” Bakunzi told The New Times.
As the Rwandan art industry takes a new dimension, Bakunzi emphasized that the Arts in Rwanda need to grow and young painters need to exhibit their art pieces.
"If we have so many places and a variety of art studios, visitors can see different artwork and have a variety to choose from,” Bakunzi said.
The launch starts at 5:00 p.m and will showcase exhibitions of seven other local painters.
