Tanga Cement Company (TCC) through its brand SIMBA Cement, will today officially launching their operations in the country after acquiring license to supply the product.According to TCC, which is Tanzania’s leading cement supplier, it will be launching their operation at Kigali Serena Hotel. The company also trades under its brand name, SIMBA on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange.

According to TCC, which is Tanzania’s leading cement supplier, it will be launching their operation at Kigali Serena Hotel. The company also trades under its brand name, SIMBA on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange.
The company was commissioned in 1980 and built largely from funds donated by Danish Government. In 1989 Holcim, the world’s second largest cement company took over a contract to manage TCC. .
It was in 1996 successfully acquired by Holcim Mauritius with the majority of the share. Today, Holcim Mauritius holds 62.5 percent of the TCC with 36.9 percent being owned by Tanzanians and 0.6 percent being owned by the Tanga Cement Employees’ Share Trust.
