Rayon Sports head coach Francis Haringingo has admitted that a move out of the club could be on the cards amid growing pressure from his employers and supporters due to the club's poor run of form.
Rayon threw away their chances of finishing the league’s first round leading the table after a surprising 1-0 defeat to Gasogi United on Friday at Kigali Stadium, leaving the Burundian’s future at the club hanging by a thread.
The defeat put Burundian coach Francis Haringingo on the brink of being sacked from the Blues’ hot seat after losing his third consecutive game in the league.
Asked if he is not afraid of being sacked due, Haringingo said that leaving the club either depends on the coach himself depending on the working conditions or the club’s decision to let him go.
"That’s normal when you’re coaching a big club like Rayon Sports, but for now I am still with the club,” he said.
"The job we do, it’s like we are always sitting on hot seats. In such situations, either a club can fire you even if you are winning or you can even resign when your working conditions put you in no position to continue with the club. I will soon tell you my position on this,” he told journalists.
Tanzanian side Namungo FC are reportedly monitoring Haringingo’s situation at Rayon Sports and reports indicate that the Burundian is linked with a move to the club next year.
The tactician refused to rule out the move but insists that his focus is on Rayon until new developments concerning his future at the club come up.
"I am now a coach of Rayon Sports because I still have a contract with them. A lot is said, let's talk about it in the coming days” he said.
Rayon sit fifth with 28 points and are level on points with APR FC and Gasogi. AS Kigali lead the table with 30 points and are parted with second-placed Kiyovu on goal difference.
