A scintillating performance by Rwanda’s “Urukerereza” dance troupe enthralled audiences in New Delhi, India. This comes after the troupe was invited by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), to participate in the “African Festival”, which took place from May 18 – 21, 2010.

This comes after the troupe was invited by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), to participate in the "African Festival”, which took place from May 18 – 21, 2010.
ICCR was founded on April 9, 1950 to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other nations.
The council prides itself on being a pre-eminent sponsor for exchanges in the field of culture and academics between India and other countries. It has been the Council’s endeavor to symbolize India’s rich Culture and traditions.
"Urukerereza” performed alongside with other African troupes from South Africa, Malawi, Nigeria and Tunisia at the KAMANI Auditorium on Wednesday.
The colourful costumes and the rhythmic moves of the "Urukerereza” dancers to the reverberating music of the drums mesmerized the audience and each segment of the dance routine was applauded by the thrilled audience.
On Wednesday, "Urukerereza” also performed in Lucknow at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Ganna Kishan Sansthan, and their performance was described as "Black magic” by Indian’s leading newspaper- "The Times Of India.
The Rwandan High Commission in India coordinated the process in conjunction with ICCR and the Rwandan Ministry of Sports and Culture. The Rwandan Charge d’Affaires; Mr. Eugene Ngoga accompanied the jubilant troupe to Lucknow.
The troupe is expected to depart from Delhi to Rwanda on Saturday, May 22.
