Residents happy with police commemoration activities

KARONGI – Residents of Rutsiro and Karongi districts have commended the various activities initiated as part of National Police’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Residents have described as fruitful, the activities of protecting the environment and dispatching information aimed at promoting road safety meant to benefit the public.

KARONGI – Residents of Rutsiro and Karongi districts have commended the various activities initiated as part of National Police’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Residents have described as fruitful, the activities of protecting the environment and dispatching information aimed at promoting road safety meant to benefit the public.

"We appreciate the various activities which have been jointly conducted by the police and the local population…as much as it is a sign of cooperation, it also ensures that the messages which regard personal and national security are directly passed on to the general public,” Anicet Karangwa, a resident of Mushubati sector in Rutsiro district said.

He pointed out the need for the local population to foster closer ties with police if more is to be achieved.

According to 27-year old Chantal Mukamana, another resident from Karongi district, the road safety campaign involving residents and the police has been very fruitful.

"When the police and citizens come together for a particular cause of promoting road safety, there is no doubt that the results are bound to be impressive,” she said.
