Two resign after embezzling taxes

NORTHERN PROVINCE MUSANZE — District advisory council has officially approved the resignation of Executive Secretaries of two sectors of Busogo and Kimonyi including an accountant of Shingiro sector who was accused of embezzling Frw 197, 100 from taxes.

MUSANZE — District advisory council has officially approved the resignation of Executive Secretaries of two sectors of Busogo and Kimonyi including an accountant of Shingiro sector who was accused of embezzling Frw 197, 100 from taxes.

According to the president of the advisory council Alex Ruberwa, the two voluntarily submitted in their resignation citing different reasons and the council had to sit and decide on whether to approve the resignations in consideration with their general performance.

 In his resignation letter, Marc Twahirwa the Executive Secretary of Kimonyi sector said that he would be leaving for further studies.

While the Executive Secretary of Busogo Innocent Musabyimana indicated that he had personal reasons for his resignation.

Musabyimana had been accused of impropriate supplying the equipment meant to help people who were affected by floods in all the sectors and instead gave it only to the residents of Busogo including those were not affected.

The equipment including iron sheets that came as a donation from the prime minister’s office to help people who were grossly affected by floods in Musanze.

The district advisory council also confirmed the resignation of in charge of welfare in Cyuve sector Benilde Umugwaneza who is alleged to have formed up a ghost association and swindled residents’ money meant for health insurance.
