Musanze — Six children were born on Christmas day in Ruhenegeri hospital on Christmas, as an eight months children was found dumped in cyuve sector early in the morning.

By midday, six mothers had effectively delivered health babies while one of them died immediately after birth.
The hospital maternity nurse Theresa Ntuyemubanzi said that there were more mothers expecting to deliver on the afternoon of Christmas.

However, residents of Rwebeya village were stunned as they woke up to prepare for the Christmas festival only to find a crying baby dumped by the roadside.

According to Evelyne Nyirandikubwimana, the health looking baby spent the night by the roadside.

Residents reported the case to the police and also informed local leaders.

Cases of child neglect have been reported in Musanze, a fort night ago, a mother was caught and sent to jail after she was found guilty of having thrown her new baby boy in a pit latrine.
