WITH Heartland of Nigeria making a last minute withdraw from the on-going Kagame Cup, Rayon Sport Coach Emmanuel Ruremesha is still hopeful of a place in the last eight.

The Blues did not have the best of starts after being held to a 2-all draw by St. George, only returning to the football scene after a two-year Fifa ban on Ethiopia.

Salahadin Said scored a brace for St. George while Rayon’s goals were scored by Sina Jerome and Frank Makengo. Ahead of their final Pool B tie with Mafunzo of Zanzibar, Ruremesha concedes that the team needs to try and keep the ball.

"Against St. George, we gave away the ball easily and then struggled to get it back so we have to correct that.”

"This is a very crucial game for both sides so it is important that we win it to have a good chance of reaching the quarter-finals,” he said.

Heartland was forced to make a last minute withdraw from the competition to concentrate on their domestic league.
