As Caf draws Sparrow Hawks in Group K

RWANDA’s Amavubi Stars avoided a clash with Togo after the latter was drawn with Chad, Tunisia, Botswana and Malawi in Group K of the 2012 Nations Cup qualifiers.

CAF had banned the West African country after they boycotted this year’s Angola Nations Cup in protest to the death of two team members who were shot by rebels in Angola, just days before the tournament kick-off.

But the ban was lifted which means that the West Africans are now eligible to play in the forthcoming qualifiers.
Rwanda remains in Group H with Ivory Coast, Benin and Burundi as they seek a second appearance in Africa’s premier football tournament. The country’s only appearance came back in 2004 when the competition was held in Tunisia.

Uganda is in Group J with Angola, neighbours Kenya and Guinea Bissau. Four-time champions Cameroon will play Senegal, DRC and lowly Mauritius in Group E while
World Cup finalists Algeria are in Group D with Morocco, Tanzania and the Central African Republic.

Group B pits Nigeria with Guinea, Ethiopia and Madagascar.
