MUHANGA - A Muhanga woman who allegedly beat her husband, inflicting fatal injuries, will today appear in court to be formally charged, Police said. Uwihoreye, 37, is said to have bled profusely and died, the day after the beating, of head injuries.

The couple, who has six children and had been married for 14 years lived in Kagitarama village, Nyamabuye sector.
Eye witnesses say Marie Josiane Uwambagimana, 35, was involved in a physical brawl with her husbad, Jean Damascene Uwihoreye, last Thursday, after the he returned home from a night out.
Upon arrest, the woman said it was an accident, and similar fights occurred whenever the husband returned home drunk.
"I’m sorry for orphaning my own children, but I beat him in self defence and this was after he had beaten me for several hours without mercy,” Uwambagimana said in her statement.
