Editor,

I read with keen interest the interview conducted by your newspaper with Dr.Mohan Kaul, Director General, Commonwealth Business Council.

All the relevant issues pertaining to Rwanda’s entry into the Commonwealth and also the sound growth taking place in the country was discussed in considerable detail.

What caught my particular attention is the importance given by Dr.Kaul to Rwanda’s tourism potential, particularly in the MICE segment (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions). The development of the Kigali Marriott and the Kigali Convention Centre are surely investments that will give optimum returns in the future.

To secure conference business, Rwanda would still need more hotels and Rwanda Tourism is surely moving in the right direction by facilitating investors in this segment.
