JEAN Claude Gasigwa reached the quarter finals of the Bralirwa Tennis Open after defeating Eric Bizimana 6-1 6-2 yesterday at Nyarutarama Sports Club.

The tennis ace is now favourite to win the Rwf150.000 winner’s prize money. After the win, Gasigwa admitted to Times Sport that he is in the best shape of his life.

"I’m enjoying this tournament and have high hopes of going all way and winning the top prize.”

‘The Davis Cup was a major disappointment but I’m clearly over it,” he added.

Gasigwa will now play Ernest Kayiranga for a place in the semi-finals. Kayiranga reached the last eight after edging Innocent Nkurunziza 7-5 6-4 in the second round.
