Etincelles 0-2 Atraco

POPULARLY know as one of the hardest places to go to and get a result, Atraco yesterday defied the odds as they grinded out a 2-0 victory over Etincelles at Umuganda Stadium.

Even the noisy crowd could not deter Sam Timbe’s guns from registering their 13th win of the season.

Jean Lomami and Dady Birori scored the goals to take Atraco to 43 points, five adrift of reigning champions APR, who are hot favourites to lift this year’s Primus league title.
"It’s always good to win. We now have a good chance of finishing second at worst,” Timbe said in a brief post match interview.

On Tuesday, APR edged closer to a record eleventh league title following their 1-0 victory over Musanze. Emmanuel Sebanani scored the game’s lone strike to take the team to 48 points.

APR, who wind up their campaign with tricky ties against Atraco, Etincelles and Rayon Sport now need a point to lift the title.

At the bottom of the table, Amagaju gave themselves a life line as far as the relegation battle is concerned after recording a surprising 1-0 win over Rayon.

Mukura also hauled themselves clear of danger with a 2-0 away win over Marines courtesy of a Kassim Hassan brace that left them in 8th spot with 20 points.
