THE local basketball federation (Ferwaba) has still failed to name the exact league throw off date after members could not convene for a recent general assembly.

According to Ferwaba’s secretary general Jean Lucien Mugabo, members could not set an exact date in last month’s meeting and failed to convene last weekend to approve the provisional May 15 date.

"We now plan on meeting on May 22 to finalise this issue,” he said.

This year, the number of male clubs is expected to rise to eight after the addition of Kigali Basketball Club (KBC).

Others will include reigning champions APR, National University of Rwanda (UNR), Espoir, CSK, Rusizi, UGB and ISAE.
