National football team head Coach Josip Kuze and Captain Ismail ‘Kodo’ Nshutinamagara are delighted after AC Milan and Brazil star Ricardo Kaka was named the FIFA’s World player of the year in Zurich.

Both Kuze and Kodo voted in a poll of national coaches and captains of the 107 Fifa member states who voted for the Fifa best player of the year.  Kodo currently vice captain in Dar es Salaam since the arrival of Olivier Karekezi from Sweden to beef up the Amavubi team voted in the absence of the latter.

The pair voted Kaka and they were all smiles after the 25-year-old was awarded the accolade on Monday night in Zurich.  Kuze said, "Yeah, my man has won, he deserved it because he has worked tirelessly this year. From Brazil team down to his club AC Milan,”  "Kaka is a complete player who has been playing for Brazil for years while Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are not the most famous players in their national team despite playing vast football,” Kuze added.

Kodo said, "He (Kaka) is still young and I hope he will be lifting it next year because he still has so many things undid for his national team as well as his club,” "He has helped his club win the Fifa club championship and his team is also eyeing this year’s Champions league,” Kodo said.

Kaka beat Manchester United’s Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Messi to this year’s honor in Zurich.

Kaka’s latest award crowns a superb year in which he led AC Milan to Champions League victory this season, scoring 10 goals in the process.   Kaka who was also named European player of the year earlier this month, polled 1,047 votes, Messi 504 and Ronaldo 426.
