School awards its pioneer head teacher

NYAGATARE – Cyabayaga Secondary School located in Mimuli sector, Nyagatare district on Wednesday awarded one of its pioneers and a teacher with an exotic cow worth Rwf100,000. Laurent Ngusaidi, was awarded for his out standing role in making the school what it is today, according to the school’s head teacher, Sam Basanyu Bakunda.

NYAGATARE – Cyabayaga Secondary School located in Mimuli sector, Nyagatare district on Wednesday awarded one of its pioneers and a teacher with an exotic cow worth Rwf100,000. 

Laurent Ngusaidi, was awarded for his out standing role in making the school what it is today, according to the school’s head teacher, Sam Basanyu Bakunda.

‘He deserved this award. He is a man of integrity who always strived to seek what can develop this school right from its beginning in 1984,’ Bakunda said. 

Ngusaidi was a pioneer and a head teacher of the school from 1985 to January 2010 when he handed over to become a regular teacher.  

At a ceremony held at school premises, Ngusaidi was applauded by the school administration as an exceptional person who transformed Cyabayaga into a model secondary in the whole district. 

‘We recognize the work he has done. What he has contributed to this school’s development is amazing,’ the school’s head added. 

Speaking to The New Times after receiving the award, Ngusaidi said that it was a long journey that could only be made with determination. 

Ngusaidi, an advanced level certificate holder in education said that he is planning to become one of the school advisers even after his retirement. 

‘I will continue to contribute to what can develop the school even after retirement age,’ he said.

Apart from Ngusaidi who was awarded with an exotic cow, the school also awarded eleven staff member with certificates of merits.
