Lt. Jean Marie Karuta, one of the suspects accused alongside Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, for planning activities aimed at causing state insecurity, will today be arraigned before a judge at Gasabo Intermediate Court.
He is the third suspect, after Lt. Col Tharcisse Nditurende and Lt. Col Noel Habiyambere, who were the senior commanders of the FDLR (Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda), to be charged with the crime.
The duo admitted last week before Judge Maurice Mbishibishi to have worked with Ingabire to form an armed group.
They revealed that Ingabire and the Secretary General of FDU Inkingi, Jean Baptiste Mberabahizi, met Nditurende’s representative Lt. Karuta Jean Marie in Kinshasa where they discussed and drew a list of what was needed to start the armed group.
Karuta was arrested on Rwandan territory while carrying out criminal activities.
