Local singer and actress, Shanel (Ruth Nirere) is in Belgium for her film tour ‘Le Jour ou Dieu est parti en Voyage’, based on the 1994 genocide against Tutsi.

The movie which is literally translated as "The Day God walked away” has already been screened in the cities of Arenberg, Namur, Liege and at the African Film Festival in Leuven.

The movie will be showing in Mos, this evening.
"The movie is appreciated wherever it is being screened,” Shanel told The New Times on phone.

The Belgian tour comes after her visit to Spain where she had been invited for the San Sebastian Human Rights Festival.
