OUT of favour APR midfielder Rodriquez Murengenzi is undergoing trials with six-time league champion Rayon Sport ahead of the Kagame Cup championship due in Kigali on May 15.

The Blues’ Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya told Times Sport yesterday that Murengenzi is one of the players on trials.

"We have a couple of players on trials but we have not taken a decision on any,” the official said.

Murengenzi was recruited by APR at the start of the 2009/10 season from Mukura but he has struggled for form at the army side.

As part of their preparations for the Kagame Cup, Rayon Sports defeated Etincelles 1-0 over the weekend. Marcel Lomami scored the lone goal.

Rayon, which is drawn in Pool B, opens its Kagame Cup campaign against St. George on May 16. Zanzibar’s Mafunzo and Nigeria’s Heartland are the other sides in the Pool.
