THE Institute of Research and Dialogue for Peace (IRDP) is in a move to curb genocide ideology in schools, senior official from the institute has said.
The RDP deputy director, Dr Nasson Munyandamutsa said the Institute will begin organising debating sessions for schools as a way of enhancing total elimination of the genocide ideology.
Munyandamutsa made the revelations December 20, during a one day film festival on fight against divisionism ethnicity and to promote reconciliation and peace at Hotel Novotel in Kigali.
The annual film festival event brought together students from different Schools around the country and members of IRDP.
"The only way to create awareness is by enabling people to talk about it. We encourage mostly the youth because they are tomorrow’s leaders and future generation,” said Munyandamutsa.
"It’s therefore important to teach the children not to obey everything they are told by their elders,” he added.
