AFTER a series of build-up games, Amavubi Stars head coach Sellas Tetteh has no doubt that the team can get a result in Dar es Salaam.

The Wasps will be back at it this Saturday when they take on Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the 2011 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

While noting that the team has gained confidence and is aware of the challenging task that awaits them, the Ghanaian asked Rwandans to take it easy on the team.

"We should not put pressure on the team. On the contrary, we should back them up because that is what they need right now.”

"The team is focused on the task at hand and basing on the preparations we have had, I don’t for one second doubt the players I’m traveling with to Tanzania,” he said.

The 18-man team which was named yesterday jets out this morning aboard a RwandAir plane. In Amavubi’s two build-up games, the team showed that it has an offensive instinct after 4-0 and 4-1 victories over Primus League sides Electrogaz and AS Kigali.

While Amavubi secured a bye to the final qualifying round after Eritrea’s last minute withdraw, Tanzania whitewashed Somalia 6-0 but Taifa Stars coach Maximo is aware that his side must fire from all cylinders if they are to secure that elusive slot in next year’s CHAN.

Last week, Maximo conceded that Rwanda would be no push overs but the Brazilian will have to do without his lead striker Mrisho Ngassa who is down with a fever.

In Ngassa’s absence, Mussa Hassan Mgosi who recently won the golden boot in the Tanzania Premier football league after scoring 18 goals will lead the hosts’ attack.
