Over 200 employees of Banque Populaire du Rwanda earlier this week descended on Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, Gisozi to pay their tribute to victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi that claimed over one million lives.

Speaking to The New Times, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ben Kalman, said that the visit was aimed at honouring the victims of the Genocide who included 30 former employees of the bank.

He said that every branch of BPR across the country will contribute to the improvement of the lives of survivors.

"We are planning to see that every branch takes part in the construction of either a health centre or a school for Genocide victims.”

Kalman revealed that BPR has set in motion a project of building a village for orphans and widows in Cyanika Sector in Burera District.
