APR’s inconsistency at this year’s Africa Men Club Championship continued on Tuesday as the Rwandan giants succumbed to a 3-1 set defeat against GSU of Kenya in Tunisia.

The Kenyans won the first, second and fourth sets while APR claimed the third set. Both sides seemed evenly balanced but GSU’s superior reception and backline defense separated the sides in a contest that lasted 100 minutes.

Muzinga of Burundi also lost out to Ahly Beni Ghazi of Libya 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 25-18, and 28-26)

The result means that GSU are now contesting for slots between 9 and 12 while APR will contend with Muzinga, Gabon’s Manga Sport and Sudanese side El Nahda for the 13th -16th slots.

In the last eight, Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia), Chlef (Algeria), Ahly Tripoli (Libya) and Prisons (Kenya) play for the 5-8 brackets.
