Election song competition kicks off

The National Election Commission (NEC), yesterday, launched a country wide search for songs that will best sensitize Rwandans about the forthcoming presidential elections set for August.

The National Election Commission (NEC), yesterday, launched a country wide search for songs that will best sensitize Rwandans about the forthcoming presidential elections set for August.

Speaking to The New Times, the in charge of elections in Gasabo District, Augustin Kananura, said that the winning songs will be played on Rwandan radio stations. 

The competition is currently being conducted at provincial level, and the top three artistes from each province will on May 7 compete for top spot.

The winner will walk away with Rwf2m, the runners up Rwf1.6m  and the third Rwf1.2m.
