Kigali’s legendary reggae orchestra, the Holy Jah Doves, on Monday returned from a weekend tour in neighbouring Uganda.
The group had signed a contract with ‘Association Esperance’, to spice up a non-profit tour which targeted peer education in Uganda. It was organised by ‘Association Esperance’, a project linked to ‘Maison du Jeune’ (Youth Centre) in Kimisagara.
Ras Mandika, real name (Michael Musengimana) who is the band leader, told The New Times that the group performed in various schools in Kampala and Jinja, as well as in a few popular hangouts within the two cities.
"We were delighted with the results of the tour as we had taken quite a long time off stage.” "We were honoured, the tour was fun and we’re set to do even better that what we did,” Ras Mandika said.
