Rwanda Village is set to reopen next week, after a month with no activity. Addressing a press conference, Kigali city vice mayor in charge of Social Affairs, Jeanne d’Arc Gakuba said the reopening of the Cultural Village is in line with promoting government investment opportunities.

Gakuba said the village will create awareness among Rwandans of the government programs and promote investment and tourism in the country.

"This is in line with supporting and promoting the business sector, not only in Kigali, but also the whole country,” she said.

The village showcases Rwandan manufactured products, the Kigali City Master Plan, ICT, art, craft and culture in preparation for showcasing in the World Cup host cities of Durban and Tswane.

"Many Rwandans don’t know their products and this comes to serve as a centre where the country’s products will be exhibited for all who will want to see and buy.”

According to Gakuba, each exhibitor will be given a period in which to exhibit after which another exhibitor will come in.
