APR boosted their chance of finishing inside the top ten at the on-going Africa Men’s Club Championship after Sunday’s straight set victory (3-0) over Defense of Ethiopia.
But the 25-11, 25-18, 25-14 victory came a little too late for the army side whose woes in the competition continue.
After a bright start on day one where the team defeated EL Mohamadia of Morocco 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 26-24), APR ran out of steam as they lost back to back games against Pool favourites Borj Bouarrirj of Algeria 3-0(25-21, 25-18, 25-19) and Libya’s Ahly Tripoli 3-1 (15-25, 25-20, 21-25) respectively.
APR, who improved their record to 2-2 were expected to round off their Pool campaign last night against FAP of Cameroon.
