The Amavubi Stars will now face a second string Sudanese national team in tomorrow’s final. Sudan beat hard-fighting Burundi 2-1 on Wednesday. At stake is a top cash award of $30,000 for the champion and a trophy. In yesterday’s match, both teams created several scoring chances and each had a goal disallowed for offside.
Rwanda’s custodian Jean Claude Ndoli put in a man-of-the-match performance to deny Uganda on several attempts.
Semi-final losers, Burundi and Uganda face-off in a battle for the third position.
The match will be played before the final on Saturday.
