The Rotary Club of Virunga and UTEXRWA, Tuesday, donated scholastic materials worth Rwf 2.5m to children infected with HIV/AIDS in Kimironko, in an attempt to support the families catering for these children.

Speaking to The New Times, the Managing Director of UTEXRWA, Raji Munyaneza, said the support is part of ongoing efforts to help children infected with HIV/AIDS and their families to live a better life.

"Virunga has been supporting these children by mobilizing medicinal support and nutritional supplements because sometimes they don’t have what to eat yet they are on ARVs, we previously promised them these materials which we have brought today,” Munyaneza said

"We collected money from our members and we provided them with bread and milk to help them cope with the ARVS and we are continuing to shore up support for these children,” he added

In this arrangement, Rotary Club of Japan has been supporting in buying medicine for the children.

In an interview with Vedaste Mugyenzi, a father of two children who received the materials, the support is valuable.

"This help means a lot to me, it has saved me a lot of money, I will now be able to use the money meant for these materials to buy more nutritious foods for my family and I am happy my children will look good at school,” he said.
