APR basketball coach Cliff Owuor expects to add to his trophy cabinet by winning this weekend’s Memorial tournament. The two-day tournament, which has been organized by the local basketball federation (Ferwaba), is being played to honour victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
The defending league champions, who have already swept two titles this year; Heroes and Fair Play tournaments, open their campaign this morning against CSK at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
"This is a very important tournament for us because it is a build up to the league and we want to assess ourselves,” the Kenyan coach said.
Other teams in contention include fallen giants Espoir, KIE, UGB, Rusizi and UNR.
