TAIFA STARS’ coach Marcio Maximo has named a provisional 27-man team to start preparations for the first leg of the final 2011 CHAN qualifier against Rwanda on May 1 in Dar es Salaam.

The Brazilian coach who recently conceded that Amavubi will be a big hurdle has exempted Simba players from the team due to their Orange Confederation Cup commitments. The Tanzanian champions are preparing for Sunday’s first leg tie against Haras El Hodoud of Egypt.

The provisional team includes; (Goalkeepers) Shabani Kado and Jackson Chove.

Defenders- Shadrack Nsajigwa, Salum Kanoni, Juma Jabu, Stephano Mwasika, Nadir Haroub, David Naftali, Kevin Yondani, Aggrey Morris, Dickson Daudi, Erasto Nyoni, Nurdin Bakari and Jabir Aziz.

Strikers/Midfielders- called in camp include Ibrahim Mwaipopo, Kigi Makasi, Shabani Nditi, Abdi Kassim, Uhuru Suleiman, Suleiman Kassim, Mrisho Ngasa, John Bocco, Mussa Hassan and Jerryson Tegete.
Meanwhile, Amavubi who have been locked in rigorous training since Monday will play Primus league side AS Kigali this afternoon at Amahoro stadium as part of their preparation for the crunch tie.

The return leg will be played on June 5 in Kigali.
While Amavubi had a free pass en route the final qualification round after Eritrea’s withdrawal, Taifa Stars whitewashed Somalia 6-0.
