The Ministry of Public Service and Labour (MIFOTRA), is committed to enhance the Capacity Building and Employment Promotion sector (CBEP).

This was disclosed, Tuesday, by Samuel Mulindwa the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service and Labour, while officiating at the forum that brought together stakeholders of the sector.

Mulindwa, pointed out that the sector is crosscutting and fundamental for accelerated growth and development of the country.

He added that the joint sector review meeting comes at a time when his ministry has a new long term comprehensive national human capital and skills development strategy.

"All these undertakings will enable the government to improve its efforts to improve capacities of the public sector"

In an interview with The New Times, Mulindwa said that joint sector review being forward looking, offers the opportunity to look ahead and reflect on priorities for the year 2010/2011.

"We need an effective and efficient cross-government coordination to deliver on the objectives enshrined in the capacity building fund and public service reform implementation plan," he stressed.

Mulindwa hailed the development partners for their support towards the CBEP sector.

At the forum, it was noted that within the four policy actions planned in 2009-2010 by the CBEP, three were fully implemented.

The Integrated Personal Payroll Information System (IPPIS) models are now operational and user groups have been established and well trained.
