MUSANZE — Over one thousand members of traditional informal school-Itorero of Musanze, this Tuesday ended their one-month training with commitment to fight poverty and revive the country’s culture.

Amid ululation, traditional songs and poems which characterized the Rwandan culture, the group named ‘Inyangakugomwa’ entertained guests who included army Generals, James Kabarebe, Maj. Gen Alex Kagame, Governor Boniface Rucagu and the Minister of state for Energy Albert Butare.

Butare said that the event was a sign that Rwandans were united by rich cultural values despite the ugly past.

He described Itorero; as a school where people acquire values of integrity, a sense of excellence and a vision of economic recovery from within the households.

The members were largely drawn from cells, settlements-imidugudu- Gacaca judges and residents of integrity in the district.

In his remarks, Gen. Kabarebe urged parents to instill good morals among their children.

Calling for close cooperation between security organs and civilians, in the promotion of culture and poverty eradication, Kabarebe noted the common enemy of Rwandans is poverty.
