The local handball federation has postponed its general elections from this Saturday, December 22 to January 27, 2008, the same day it will be holding their General Assembly.

During that general assembly, federation members would elect a new federation president, two vice presidents, the Secretary General and the treasurer.
According to the letter signed by the incumbent president, Xavier Mbarubukeye and seen by Times Sport, it reads in parts, "On reasons not from us, the general assembly and the elections have been postponed.”
Aspiring candidates must be either presidents of an existing handball club or any other person officially appointed permitted by the club leadership.
A ceremonial tournament to end the 2007 is also scheduled to take place a week before the general assembly and the elections with the participating teams asked to pay Frw3.000 as registration fee.
