KIGALI City Council has announced the creation of a One-Stop centre to enable investors register land and acquire documents necessary for construction.
This is aimed at facilitating doing business in Rwanda.
The One-Stop Centre will cut down on the time required to get construction permits, from 210 days to 30.
This is a critical policy in attracting investments, and as it was stated by the City officials, this places Rwanda among the best countries in this regard.
The government has, over the last few years, made deliberate efforts to promote business and attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs).
It ought to be noted that the ease with which investors register their businesses and get relevant documents, greatly impacts on the investment decisions they make.
The ball is now in the court of our business community to take advantage of the attractive reforms, and move their investments to another level. It is also important for the city and other stakeholders, who are charged with investment promotion in the country, to widely disseminate beyond our borders, the information about the ease of doing business in Rwanda.
Aggressively publicizing the friendly business environment Rwanda offers to potential investors, will attract FDI’s and realize social economic advancement.
