KIGALI - THE School of Finance and Banking (SFB) yesterday joined the rest of the country in commemorating the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi.

The event kicked off with a ‘Walk to Remember’ that ended at Gikondo memorial site where students and the staff of the school laid a wreath in respect to over 200 people buried there.

Speaking at the sorrowful event, Pastor Antoine Rutayisire, who represented the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC), blamed intellectuals for the atrocities that befell the country and urged the varsity to take a lead in building their nation.

SFB Rector, Dr Reid Whitlock, vowed that the Campus will never be a host to segregation of any kind and called upon intellectuals to strive to create a brighter Rwanda.

Manzi Anatole, the coordinator of AERG, an association of youth Genocide survivors’, praised the efforts of the survivors in pulling themselves together and regaining the hope to live.

The association has managed to bring together survivors of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi and even formed families that bond them together. on their living standards.
