EASTERN PROVINCE

NYAGATARE –The long awaited district dancing cultural troupe was this week formed out of the district informal education group-Itorero.

The troupe was inaugurated by Mayor Robert Kashemeza, during the closure of training for Itorero, at Nyagatare recreational ground.

The troupe christened –Imparirwagutebuka- is composed of members from all the 14 district sectors.

"Through the informal education training [Itorero] the participants were taught a number of topics which are developmental and vital to citizens.

We hope that the lessons would bring a positive change to the rebuilding of this country,” Kashemeza said, announcing that during the training the group formed a cultural dancing troupe to build the image of the district.

The troupe members committed to promote a variety of cultural music and dance including Gishakamba [the adopted type of music from the former Rwandan exiles in Uganda], amaraba, Intore and Dimbahasi types.

The state minister for labour and skills development, Angelina Muganza, hailed district authorities for conceiving the idea of a cultural dancing troupe and offered to market it across the country.
