During the recent El Classico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona I saw that Lionel Messi is a more complete player than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo might be a better header and better dribbler of the ball but he spends fifty percent of the time on the ground complaining to the referee, even though most of the time his complaints are without merit.

Lionel Messi also tracks back when he loses the ball but Ronaldo just stands there; this makes me question his effort and work rate.

Ronaldo has had a fairly good season but Messi is on another level; no one is close to him at the moment, it’s like he is the best ‘three’ players in the world rolled into one.

When he doesn’t score he  gives assists and you can be assured of some contribution whenever he plays but Ronaldo has off days where he doesn’t contribute an iota, therefore making his team lose because they’re dependent of him.

Overall, despite all the money Real Madrid spent last year, they are very ordinary and FC Barcelona is a much better team.
