The good thing about my buddies was that we were all party animals who partied every weekend.

It’s a Friday afternoon and Liz is hurrying back to the hostel when she meets Kevin. They immediately start a conversation.

"Liz you look gorgeous today!” Kevin says stammering.

"Thanks Kevin,” Liz says as her face glowed.
It had been a fortnight since the two had met eye to eye, yet they were classmates. They had been the talk among the campus goons since their breakup. The couple had placed the blame on the freshman bash. Kevin had blacked out when Liz caught him pants down with another hot chick in his room. Kevin had not forgotten about the gnashing and the slaps he had received from Liz.

"Where have you been all this long?” Kevin says as he tries to relax.

"Kevin don’t get started again,” Liz said as she walked away.

Kevin remains rooted to the ground and gives her ‘I don’t care’ look. The thought of Kevin and Liz separating had never crossed our minds; they looked perfect and inseparable to us.

It might sound weird, when I say am a young man who is about to complete my studies in one of Kigali universities. It’s fascinating with all the buzz of completing college, having a good job, that dream car and of course that hot chick. This might be like building castles in the air.

Kevin happens to be one of my closest buddies. What I don’t understand is where I was that night because I would have saved the moment, maybe by keeping Liz busy or something.

Ladies please don’t crucify me for this, but I think some truths are bitterer than others. Kevin was one of the hottest guys on campus and no single girl would deny having a crash on him, I think he was a girl  magnet.

On the other hand Liz was completely opposite, a humble girl, and above all beautiful. Liz never left Kevin’s side; maybe she was scared of loosing him.

"Kevin you look far away, what is the matter?” Ken asks.
"Ken you know yesterday we lost that match,” Kevin says trying to excuse himself.

"I think it was bad luck, that referee should be sanctioned. He made a horrendous mistake by awarding that penalty, which should have never been.”

What I don’t understand is the genetic makeup of guys from this side of the world. They argue about football for hours, sometimes end up in nasty brawls. The good thing about my buddies was that we were all party animals who partied every weekend.

"Guys we meet at our usual joint at 7.00p.m,” Kevin says as he hurriedly leaves the room.

As we hanged out, a friend tells an interesting story about this first year guy who had been around with four chicks (campus ladies) who were close friends. The story had claimed this guy had declared his undying love for each chick because they happened to be easy prey for him.

Personally, I felt he was an alpha male, a hero of some sort until I met these two chicks, who told me women are their own enemies.

Today I don’t want to support these two chicks or question their school of thought, but I want to take you for an interesting journey about all campus gossip, fashion trends, relationships, parties, football and above all the boring lectures.

This is sheer Chaos!
