President Paul Kagame has delegated Rwanda’s envoy to Uganda , Frank Mugambage, to represent him at the coronation ceremony of the King of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV slated for tomorrow.

"I will be there to attend the coronation celebrations on behalf of the President,” High Commissioner Mugambage said in an interview with The New Times.

Oyo will be taking over the administration of the kingdom from the regents who have helped him since he was crowned 15 years ago at the age of three, after the death of his father, Patrick Olimi Kaboyo II.

Uganda’s Minister for Local Government and overall Chairperson of the Grand Coronation Organizing Committee, Adolf Mwesige, said in a press statement that they expect a huge turn up for the event.

"We anticipate the coronation event will be attended by over 100,000 loyal Batooro. The Kingdom expects to host over five Heads of State and about 200 Royals, both national and international, most of whom have confirmed attendance,” he said.

The statement adds that Tooro Kingdom will today hold the first ever Royal street party dubbed the "King Oyo Grand Coronation Kasiki Birthday” in Fort Portal district, to celebrate the youthful king’s 18th birthday.

The street party will also be a precursor to the next day’s grand coronation event taking place tomorrow at the Karuzika Palace grounds.
