Residents set to benefit from Rwf89million support

NYAGATARE – Residents of Kiyombe sector, Nyagatare district have received funds worth Rwf89 million under the government’s Vision 2020 Umurenge programme for their outstanding efforts in promoting sector credit and savings cooperative ( Sacco).

NYAGATARE – Residents of Kiyombe sector, Nyagatare district have received funds worth Rwf89 million under the government’s Vision 2020 Umurenge programme for their outstanding efforts in promoting sector credit and savings cooperative ( Sacco). 

The funds, according to Kiyombe Sector Executive Secretary, Emmanuel Mwumvaneza were given to residents after drafting different developmental projects in the sector. 

‘We shall use the money to offer loans to residents through Umurenge Sacco,’ he said. 

Residents of Kiyombe sector were the first to launch the savings and credit cooperative, including constructing their own building in the district. 

Some of the residents who spoke to The New Times said they hoped the funds would uplift their livelihoods. 
‘We submitted a project worth Rwf15 million. And we hope that after receiving money, there will be a new lease of life for residents,’ Emmanuel Sibomana, said. 

The district vice Mayor in charge of Economic Affairs, Enock Byanashaija, who is also the former Kiyombe sector executive secretary, lauded residents for their outstanding effort in fighting poverty.
