Editor,

It’s a shame that CECAFA has only confirmed a provision for two ‘guest teams’ in this year’s Kagame Cup which is scheduled to run from May 15-29 in Kigali, Rwanda. The body’s boss, Leodegar Tenga, revealed this on Tuesday.

Reigning African champions TP Mazembe, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, Nigeria’s Heartland, Angola’s Libolo du Recreativo all wanted to be a part of this competition.

As a football fan, I want to watch a competition that has as many good teams as possible; and these teams are all very good.

The lack of these teams will surely diminish this tournament. I think that the Cecafa administration should reconsider this decision.
