Editor,
Through investment efforts and job creation, more Rwandans have improved their standards of living. By providing a platform for ‘Education for All’ through the Nine Year Basic Education, more Rwandan children are given the opportunity to achieve a brighter future.
By overcoming illiteracy, more energy is invested in peace and development. This policy has consequently changed Rwanda’s tainted image spoilt by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Rwanda is now known as a stable and transformed state that has become the hope of the region, if not Africa as a whole.
This does not come as a surprise given, the extra effort and hard work of various institutions and individuals countrywide.
Also, the Ingando and Umuganda policy have played a major role in uniting and reconciling communities. They have provided a climate of mutual trust, unity for development and re-instilled a sense of pride within the people of Rwanda.
Rwanda will continue to blossom after its dark past.
