APR will decide whether to punish their captain Patrick Mafisango for recklessly getting himself red-carded during their Orange Champions League return leg against African Champions and hosts TP Mazembe after reviewing the tie’s video footage according to Club Secretary General Adolphe Kalisa.

The Rwandan giants marched into the tie on top following their 1-0 first leg win but that lead was wiped out in the 7th minute when TP Mazembe skipper and 2009 CAF local African player of the year Tresor Mputu lashed onto a poor header by the APR backline to slot home.

Mafisango then worsened APR’s task on the 40th minute when he received a second yellow for a deliberate hand ball.

The military side’ fate was sealed in the second half when Mazembe striker Patu Kabangu scored the second goal.

Kalisa told Times Sport that the club has rules to deal with incidents like that of Mafisango but that they need to first review the game’s video footage to make an informed decision.

"We have not yet taken a decision because we are still waiting for the video footage, but we have clear rules on such incidents and will abide by them after reviewing the video,” Kalisa said.

APR have been turned their focus on the Primus National League where they play the first of their three games in hand against Amagaju at Nyamirambo Regional stadium this weekend.

The military side is currently on level points with Etincelles (39 points) at the top of the table.
