Belgium based Rwandan gospel star, Kizito Mihigo, rallied hundreds of revellers in his live concert “Akira uru Rwanda Mana Ihoraho.” The concert was held on Sunday, at Lycée Notre dame de Citeaux, with the support of the Ministry of Sports and Culture (MINISPOC).

The concert was held on Sunday, at Lycée Notre dame de Citeaux, with the support of the Ministry of Sports and Culture (MINISPOC).
His gig attracted officials, including Prime Minister, Bernard Makuza, Joseph Habineza, the Minister of Culture and Sports, and Tito Rutaremara, the Ombudsman.
Drawing from his rich repertoire with hits like: ‘Akira uru Rwanda’, ‘Ndibutse’, ‘Arc en ciel’ and ‘Iteme’, Mihigo electrified his crowd.
He also sung with Christus Regnat choir — whose songs drew sing-along sessions from his fans in the chapel and the main hall — where a huge screen was set— to provide for the huge crowd.
Upcoming stars, Edouard Bamporiki and Yves Rwibutso also recited poems.
During the concert, Mihigo and other participants gave testimonies, while the fundraising process to raise money to cover costs incurred during the concert’s preparation proceeded. The concert was free of charge, and started at 6 p.m.
Mihigo will also stage a solo performance today at Rebero Hill, to conclude the 16 Commemoration Week, of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide against the Tutsi.
